We are a venture company specializing in inbound tourism, founded in August 2023,
with a mission to create journeys that can become turning points in life.
Through our media and tour services, we aim to provide unique experiences that inspire and transform.
The name “YATRA” means “journey” in Hindi. Our founders, Soma Tashiro and Kensuke Ko,
first met as university students at a guesthouse in Kolkata, India, and quickly bonded, spending nearly a month traveling together.
Travel brings connections, learning, and inspiration—all of which have deeply influenced our perspectives and future paths.
When international travel became impossible during the pandemic,
we realized the immense potential for growth in Japan’s rich history, nature, and culture as a leading tourism destination.
We are determined to create life-changing journeys, starting right here in Japan,
while working from our office in Taito Ward, Tokyo, to take on the world.

Co-CEO: Kensuke Ko
Graduated from Meiji University’s Faculty of Law. Born in Shizuoka Prefecture.
While at university, he gained experience with startups and interned at a VC firm. After graduation, he joined GA Technologies Group, where he was seconded to Itandi Inc. There, he launched and led a SaaS business, achieving Product-Market Fit and the No. 1 market share. In 2023, he co-founded Yatra Inc.
Co-CEO: Soma Tashiro
Graduated from Ritsumeikan University’s College of Image Arts and Sciences. Born in Kobe.
As a freelance filmmaker during his university years, he worked on over 100 advertisements and films. He also gained recognition as a YouTuber using his proficiency in Indonesian. After graduation, he joined CACTAS Inc., where he set up an overseas base for video production in Malaysia. In 2023, he co-founded Yatra Inc.
His hobbies include traveling and exploring guesthouses.
