Overview
A Tokyo geisha dinner in Kagurazaka, the city's old entertainment quarter of cobbled lanes and hidden ryotei. You eat a full kaiseki course while a geisha dances, plays and talks with you, with a certified guide interpreting. Most visitors do not know Tokyo still has this.
Highlights
A members-only ryotei in Kagurazaka, not a hotel banquet room
A full kaiseki course, served in sequence
Dances and live traditional music, close enough to see the hands
Conversation with your geisha host, interpreted throughout
Photographs with your host
Experience
Kagurazaka, Tokyo's quieter geisha quarter
Everyone associates geisha with Kyoto. Tokyo has its own quarter, in Kagurazaka, where cobbled lanes run off the main street and the ryotei keep their doors shut. It is a working neighbourhood rather than a preserved one, which is part of why so few visitors find it.
Inside a ryotei that does not take walk-ins
The restaurant is members-only in the traditional sense — introductions, not reservations. Your guide takes you in. The kaiseki arrives course by course, built around the season, and the room is small enough that nothing feels staged.
The part guests do not expect
The dancing and the music are what people book for. What they talk about afterwards is the conversation — how the training works, what the day of a geisha looks like, what she thought of her first year. Your guide interprets, so you ask directly.

FAQ
How is this different from the Kyoto geisha dinner?
Kagurazaka is Tokyo's own quarter and far less visited. The format is similar; the neighbourhood, the ryotei and the atmosphere are not. If you are only in Tokyo, you do not need to travel to Kyoto for this.
Do we actually talk to her?
Yes. Your guide interprets throughout, and most of the evening ends up being conversation rather than performance.
What is included in the price?
The kaiseki dinner, the geisha, the venue fees, your certified guide and a photograph with your host. Alcohol and anything extra are separate.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time. Bookings are confirmed instantly.
